Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 26 September 2026

These Terms & Conditions apply to Yoga Space classes, workshops, retreats and other services provided by Pauline Brooks trading as Yoga Space in Penicuik, Midlothian, Scotland.

By making a booking, you agree to these terms.

Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

Booking

Bookings are managed through Bookwhen.

Places are subject to availability.

Your place is confirmed when the booking process has been completed and you receive confirmation.

Please check the class, date, time and location carefully before booking.

Prices and payment

Current prices are shown on the relevant Bookwhen booking page.

Payment is made using the payment options available through Bookwhen.

Any applicable charges will be clearly shown before you complete your booking.

Your right to cancel

Classes, workshops and similar leisure activities that are booked for a specific date or period are generally excluded from the statutory 14-day cooling-off period that applies to some online purchases.

Our own cancellation and transfer policy therefore applies.

Cancellations and transfers by you

If you need to cancel or transfer your place, please contact us as soon as possible.

For regular classes:

  • Cancellations made at least 24 hours before the class may be transferred to another suitable class or credited where reasonably possible.
  • Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the class are normally non-refundable and non-transferable.
  • Missed classes are normally non-refundable.

For workshops and retreats, a separate cancellation policy may apply and will be shown when booking.

Where exceptional circumstances arise, please contact us and we will consider the circumstances fairly.

Nothing in this cancellation policy limits any statutory rights you may have.

If Yoga Space cancels or changes a class

Occasionally we may need to change the teacher, venue, format or timing of a session.

If Yoga Space cancels a class and cannot provide a reasonable alternative, you will be offered an appropriate refund, credit or transfer.

We will try to give as much notice as reasonably possible.

Health and participation

Yoga involves physical activity.

You are responsible for deciding whether a class is appropriate for you and for working within your own abilities.

Please tell Pauline before taking part if you have an injury, medical condition, are pregnant, have recently had surgery, or there is anything else relevant to your safe participation.

If you are unsure whether yoga is suitable for you, you should seek appropriate medical or healthcare advice before taking part.

Please stop an activity if you experience pain, dizziness or feel unwell and let the teacher know.

Any modifications or suggestions offered during a class are general guidance and are not a substitute for individual medical advice.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Personal belongings

Please take reasonable care of your belongings while attending Yoga Space sessions.

Yoga Space cannot accept responsibility for loss or damage to personal belongings except where this results from something for which we are legally responsible.

Behaviour

We want Yoga Space to be welcoming and safe for everyone.

We reserve the right to ask someone to leave or decline future bookings where behaviour is abusive, threatening, discriminatory, disruptive or creates a safety risk.

Any decision will be made reasonably and fairly.

Workshops and retreats

Additional terms may apply to individual workshops or retreats, particularly where venue, accommodation, catering or third-party providers are involved.

Any additional terms will be made available before booking.

Photography and marketing

We will not assume that attending a class gives us permission to use identifiable photographs or videos of you for marketing.

Where photography or filming is planned, we will let participants know and obtain appropriate permission where required.

Website information

We make reasonable efforts to keep information on the Yoga Space website accurate and up to date.

Class timetables, teachers, prices and availability may change.

The most current booking information will normally appear on the relevant Bookwhen booking page.

Complaints

If something has gone wrong, please contact us first so that we have an opportunity to resolve it.
